Grease Trap Cleans
Grease traps require scheduled pumping out!
Grease traps
A grease trap collects stubborn, hard-to-break-down fats and greases before they enter the sewer system. These traps are emptied with vacuum tankers, and the collected waste is processed at our Liquid Food Waste Processing Plant. At this facility, advanced technology separates fats and greases into biosolids, while the leftover liquid is treated to meet reuse standards.
5th Star Vacuum Excavation offers:
• Service scheduling managed by a database
• A large fleet of specialised collection vehicles
• Reporting services for authorities
• Fully trained, experienced staff
• Consultancy and advice on liquid waste
• Support for grease traps of any size
• Environmentally conscious solutions
• Quality assurance and proper EPA licensing in Queensland
Grease Trap Processing
With the rise in restaurants and fast food outlets over the past 30–40 years, there’s been an increase in cooking fat, oil, and grease entering sewers, leading to blockages and treatment difficulties. To solve this, commercial grease traps are now required at source locations to catch these substances before they reach sewer pipes. Councils require regular maintenance and pump-outs for these traps, along with separate treatment before the waste re-enters the system.
The treatment process includes filtration and screening, adjusting the pH, and separating solids from water using a dissolved air flotation method. The resulting grease, oil, and fat solids are dried into biosolids for soil conditioning, while the water is aerated until it meets council sewer discharge standards for BOD (biochemical oxygen demand). Council authorities and the EPA closely supervise the entire operation.
As build-ups of grease and fat can block sewers, grease traps play a crucial role and need routine care to protect the environment. For details or a free quote, simply complete the form above.
